I am intrigued by the many ways in which ordinary objects and transactions from our everyday environments can be transformed to take on extraordinary meaning. My multidisciplinary, participatory works touch on these transformations using textiles, sculpture, stitching, and digital media.   I find myself continually drawn to themes and modes of working in which simplicity is a basis for complex, layered work, both in form and in meaning.   Contrasting elements of strength, delicacy, permanence and transience are reflected in the ideas I choose to explore as well as in the visual, tactile and three-dimensional forms I create. The focus of my current work is centered on themes of women and labor, and different ways of revealing invisibilities.
